We held our spring Wedding Fayre on the 25th April and once again it was a tremendous success. Over 1000 people came through the doors and we had 238 brides register with us. The fayre which runs twice a year has around 38 stalls all dedicated towards weddings, from photographers, dresses, favours etc to chair covers, jewellers and even a lucky chimney sweep!! Our wedding co-ordinators were on hand throughout the day to speak to brides and answer any queries. Even a surprise thunder storm didn’t spoil the day!

A member of our accounts team has just celebrated 10 years service with the Waterton Park Hotel. She was awarded with a trip to London to see the show, We will Rock you, and a nights stay dinner bed and breakfast in a Hotel. A good time was had and we look forward to another 10 years!!

We have had the Easter Fun Splash over the holidays. This is where we invite all the children to join us in our mad hour.

We had 30 children in the pool each Tuesday, the fun splash always goes down a treat, it’s the children’s time to have fun and play with our fantastic NEW floats.

Two of our office staff have signed themselves up to do the 10 mile Wakefield Hospice Midnight Walk on Saturday 5th June 2010. It’s a 6 or 10 mile walk around Wakefield starting at Midnight, raising much needed funds for the charity.

Our successful winter sausage club came to an end this week. Watch this space for details of its restart in October. New summer specials will take its place in Charlie’s over the coming months.

We are pleased to inform everyone that we are now supporting the much deserving charity The Wakefield Hospice. To start our partnership off, we hosted our first “Buddy Lunch” on Tuesday 30th March 2010. Local companies new to the Buddy Lunches gathered for an informal lunch and had the opportunity to give an overview of their business and product services and do some general networking with each other.
Daphne Leach, from the Wakefield Hospice who hosts the lunches quoted “From the moment I arrived, I couldn’t have had better service, and a number of our guests said exactly the same”
 

Linda Endersby laid down her feather duster after over 25 years of service at the Hotel.
Linda who works in our housekeeping department was given a “jam, scone and cream” send off by all the staff last Thursday. A much valued member of staff, she will be truly missed and we all wish her the best of luck for her retirement.
